We had the mediocre Korean media thriller Tabloid Truth and the underwhelming Whistle Blower last year but Journalist has a lot more going for it. Jo Jong-seok is a charismatic actor (who I think has yet to show his best work) and director Roh Deok impressed many with her debut. If she can bring her grounded style to a clever script that effectively explores Korea's turbulent media scene, we could be in for a real treat.
