Most Anticipated Korean Films of 2015

6. Journalist
Dir: Roh Deok (Very Ordinary Couple, 2013)
Cast: Jo Jong-seok (The Face Reader, 2013)
Production: Universe Film
DistributionLotte Entertainment
Filming Dates: 2015-02 (expected)
Status: Pre-Production
Genre: Thriller
Plot: Ruthless journalists compete for the biggest scoop when a big murder case unfolds in the seedy world of crime news.

We had the mediocre Korean media thriller Tabloid Truth and the underwhelming Whistle Blower last year but Journalist has a lot more going for it. Jo Jong-seok is a charismatic actor (who I think has yet to show his best work) and director Roh Deok impressed many with her debut. If she can bring her grounded style to a clever script that effectively explores Korea's turbulent media scene, we could be in for a real treat.
