Top Korean Films of 2013

4. Our Sunhi

Though it can seem like he does the same thing over and over again, critics and viewers seem to grow more fond of Hong Sangsoo's film as time goes by, that’s certainly the case with me. Our Sunhi is one of the director’s most stripped down works but also one of his most accessible. The inclusion of Jung Jae-young (a first timer in Hong’s stable of repeat cast members) as the middle ground between Lee Sun-Kyun’s student filmmaker and Kim Sang-joong’s older professor was a great choice.

Hong’s other 2013 film, Nobody Daughter Haewon, was also delightful.
