Top 10 Korean Contenders for Cannes 2015

10. A Promising Korean Thriller

What are they? Various Korean thrillers that show promise, such as Gangnam Blues by Yoo Ha (A Dirty Carnival, 2006), Home Sweet Home by Lee Lyoung-mi (Crush and Blush, 2008) and Assassination by Choi Dong-hoon (The Thieves, 2012). Though given the low profiles of The Target and A Hard Day ahead of their Cannes selections last year, a number of others might surprise us.

Why are they contenders? Again, Korean thrillers did well last year and have also done so in the past.

Will they be ready? Some are finished (Gangnam Blues), others are long shots (Assassination).

What are their chances? As a group, one of them might have a slight chance. Individually, highly unlikely.
