동주
Dir: Lee Joon-ik (The King and the Clown, 2005)
Cast: Kang Ha-neul (Twenty), Park Jung-min (Tinker Ticker, 2013)
Production: Luz Y Sonidos
Distribution: M-Line Distribution
Filming Dates: 2015-03-21 ~ 2015-04-25

Plot: The life of poet Yun Dong-ju, who lived during the Colonial Era and was oppressed by Japanese occupiers for his supposed affiliation with the resistance movement.

What to expect: Following the large-scale period drama The Throne, Lee Joon-ik teams up with indie darling Shin Yeon-shick (The Avian Kind, 2014), as writer and producer, for this low-key black and white period drama. One of Korea’s most reliable filmmakers, and one who tends to surprise when the stakes are low, Lee has a lot to work with on Dongju.

When can we see it? Comes out in Korea on February 18th.
