Most Anticipated Korean Films of 2016

27. Phantom Detective
명탐정 홍길동
Dir: Jo Sung-hee (A Werewolf Boy, 2012)
Cast: Lee Je-hoon (Architecture 101, 2012), Kim Sung-kyun (Nameless Gangster, 2012)
Production: Bidangil Pictures
Distribution: CJ Entertainment
Filming Dates: 2014-12-02 ~ 2015-04-16
Status: Post-Production
Genre: Action, Drama

Plot: Endowed with excellent memory and sleuthing skills, detective Hong GIl-dong gets involved in a major case.

What to expect: The famous Hong Gil-dong returns to the screen yet again under the direction of Jo Sung-hee. He proved more than capable of steering a big romantic fantasy to success (A Werewolf Boy, 2012) but the talent he showed in his KAFA debut End of Animal (2010) is what has really kept me interested in this director. This could be a lot of fun, but I'm not quite sold yet.

When can we see it? Film wrapped ages ago so could be ready to go at a moment’s notice. Probably spring or fall.
