Most Anticipated Korean Films of 2015

15. Love Is a Virus (translated title)
사랑은 바이러스
Dir: Kang Yi-kwan (Juvenile Offender, 2012)
Cast: Lee Sun-kyun (A Hard Day)
Filming Dates: 2015-03 (expected)
Status: Pre-Production
Plot: A deadly virus, which kills those infected in five days unless they fall in love, grips Korea. While a scientist tries to develop a vaccine, he meets an infected woman.

The plot here is perfectly ridiculous and I might have written it off were it not for the repairing of Lee Sun-kyun with Kang Yi-kwan, a smart director who probably won't turn this into drippy nonsense. It's not a sure thing, but this could become one of the bendy genre gems that Korea has become known for.
