Definitely one of the artsier filmmakers on the peninsula, Busan-native Jeon Soo-il's work doesn't sit well with everyone but some of his best films are terrific, if approached the right way. The idea of a Korean film shot in Paris (like Hong Sangsoo's Night and Day in 2008) is also enticing, and of course Jeon is a fluent French speaker, so one assume there would have been less communication barriers with this one.
